PROGRAMS WE SUPPORT

PUBLIC SAFETY LOCAL OPTION LEVY

Washington County provides a wide range of public safety services to ALL County residents, including those living in city neighborhoods, urban unincorporated communities and rural areas.

Funding for a large portion of these services includes county wide police services, the county jail, prosecution, parole & probation, victims’ assistance, and juvenile justice services.

ENHANCED SHERIFF’S PATROL DISTRICT

Voters established the Enhanced Sheriff’s Patrol District (ESPD) in 1987 to provide an enhanced level of police services for residents of the urban area of Washington County outside of cities.

With funding from a local option levy, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office has provided these law enforcement services focused inside the urban unincorporated area.
